The Hull Folk & History Trail was developed to try and generate an interest in both the History and Folk music of Hull. The trail featured stop off points in the Old Town of Hull at which the Collective would perform two or three songs pertinent to the location.
For instance, at Beverley Gate, where King Charles 1 was locked out the town, we performed 1642 (Fighting for old Charlie) and The Diggers Song.
We had also identified the lost locations of some of Hull 19th C sheet ballad printers and, likewise, performed some of their songs at these location.
Despite the atrocious weather we lead a hardy group of around 30 souls around Hull for about two and a half hours!
